In the Season 9 quest, we have no idea what will happen with Bang and Loba's relationship even as Loba commits herself fully to finding a cure for her, and when the cure did come, she was left changed by it. For example, the Loba and Rev storyline changed Bang and Loba's relationship from one of antagonism to friendship to that friendship being strained, and that has changed their interactions and their character. We never got that much personal stories on Titanfall because that is not the story it wants to tell, it's the same with Apex and the Apex Games.Īlso, stakes doesn't have to be a life or death situation, the comics and the various lore pieces so far have changed the characters. This is contrasted to Titanfall which is about the struggle for the control of the Frontier, so we have lots of info regarding the various factions that are participating in the war and their commanders. It's been two years and we don't even know who won what season or how respawning works. It has always been that and it will always will be, that's why we barely get any lore about what actually happens in the games. The thing is, Apex Legends wasn't ever a story of the Apex Games itself, it has always been the story of the Legends who compete in it. So the big problem in both of these problems is. Onto the 2nd problem : because the apex lore is connected to a game, if any of the legends have any type of conflict with each other, there would be absolutely no stakes, for example the revenant and loba storyline, revenant is waiting for loba to get in a relationship with either loba or valk so he can kill them when that happens, and there lies the problem, rev can't kill any of them because they are connected to a game, so respawn can't just remove the characters from the game when they die, so this makes the stakes non existent because you know that rev is gonna lose because the game is holding him back. Those details will become more clear as we inch toward Season 9's projected launch window in May.Īpex Legends is available now on PS4, Xbox One, Switch and PC.The problem is that, the apex legends lore has turned into a soap opera of who is gonna be with who, while I like shipping the story of apex legends takes place in a fucking bloodsport, so these people have to fight each other and if they all love each other then why would they beat the shit out of each other for money ? The apex writers have wrote themselves into a corner by adding ships in the game, and it just doesn't work out, the structure of the game is that these people are fighting for money, glory, revenge and honor, but if they all love each other and call each other family, them being in a bloodsport doesn't work It seems like a near guarantee that Blisk will come to Apex eventually, but a Season 9 debut isn't certain yet. While a South African mercenary doesn't sound like it meshes with Japanese culture very much, the fact that the mercenary can potentially deploy a giant mech certainly does. Speaking to Famitsu earlier this month, Apex Legends Game Director Chad Grenier teased "the Legend in Season 9 I hope will be liked in Japan." On an official basis, the only thing that's been suggested about the Season 9 Legend is that they may appeal to a Japanese audience. This playtest suggests the character might be feature-complete, but it's worth noting that Blisk has been part of datamined files since shortly after Apex launched in 2019. He's responsible for adding Legends to his list that eventually make their way into the competition.Īs for his possible appearance in Season 9, that much remains unclear. In the Apex universe, he's established as the original commissioner of the Apex Games, having once fought as a mercenary in similar bloodsports. Kuben Blisk is a South African protagonist featured in Respawn's Titanfall and Titanfall 2. □ /et7kjqV8mH- Biast12 (Tobias) MaWho is Kuben Blisk, and will we see him in Season 9?
